The BDSA holds two competitive golf events a year, each with an exclusive purpose.

East West Golf Classic

The East West Golf Classic is the BDSA’s primary fundraiser, held every year in January. Participants are able to network and play golf at a premier resort while enjoying fine cuisine and entertainment. It’s two days of spectacular golf competition, great food, entertainment, and prizes. All proceeds from registration and sponsorships go to fund scholarships for students. This event is the lifeblood of the BDSA…and allows us to continue giving minority golfers a brighter future.

The East West Golf Classic is how we send minority youth to college. Your participation is what guarantees our funding. To date, we have awarded more than $3.6 million in scholarships to over 1000 minority students nationwide. Our goal is to broaden the horizons of our youth toward leadership, development, and academic achievement. Thank you for joining us in our mission to change lives.

Bill Dickey Junior Golf Invitational (BDI)

The Annual Bill Dickey Invitational Junior Golf Championship was created for the purpose of identifying college scholarship candidates, and providing an internationally-recognized and highly-competitive stage for the country’s top minority junior golf talent.

It’s a two-day junior golf championship held at a first-class golf facility, where young minority golfers aged 12-18 can showcase their talents, build leadership skills, and interact with industry professionals. Each year, 40+ minority junior and high school players with single-digit handicaps compete in a 36-hole medal play tournament. They also have the opportunity to attend workshops where they can network and learn valuable skills for success. The experience is invaluable!

If you would like to be considered for inclusion into the BDI, please visit the BDI information page.
